project life 2014 christmas card update.

lots of cards.

lots of photos.

lots of cutting.

lots of double sided photo cards -

a slight challenge but i just

mini stapled them into a clear 12x12 pocket

so now we can still enjoy both sides!

i'm catching up on those holiday card memories!

project life 2014 update - finally!

had a chance to work on this project this afternoon.

had a chance to catch up with november and december.

todays goal was to just get all the photos and ephemera into

order and into page protectors.

very busy two months.

over 200 photos taken in two months.

21 pages added to the binder.

next weeks goal is to fill the journal cards into

all the blank pockets!

i'm catching up on all those everyday memories!

colin and i just finished reading "the giver"
one of us in paperback.
one of us in ebook.
one of us had weekly online quizzes.
one of us did not.
both of us loved the book.
classic read regardless of age!

weekend recap:
we took the boys to church.
we had a family brunch around the table.
we went to see 'american sniper.'
{enter pause here}
yes, it was 'r' rated.
yes, we knew that before we bought the tickets.
yes, we spoke with several people who already saw it
before making our 'colin' decision.
yes, there was a bad word or two in the movie but
remember he takes the school bus everyday.
{enter another pause here}
but this is history.
but this is real life.
but this is reality.
but this is what we don't see on tv everyday.
but this is what our men do for our freedom.
but this is why we are proud to live in this country.
but this is why we wanted the boys to see it.

the movie theater was so silent after it ended.
the movie lived with you long after the popcorn was gone.
the movie still provides deep thoughtful questions
from the boys.
the movie was outrageously memorable.

i remember when i actually could stay awake for 

the entire episode of saturday night live...

now i have to watch it on youtube the day later...

and laugh with my four football loving guys!

the only thing better than a starbucks travel cup

filled with hot coffee at 630am is

coming home to a chilled bottle of wine and a chipotle burrito in the oven.

yes, its friday night & we are baking some

sunday night tradition a couple days early!

3 pizzas and 4 of justins friends spent

an evening eating and playing video games.

a new twist on friday family fun night !

we bundled up & showed some heavy

school spirit for the hopewell hornets boys 7th

grade basketball team.

nice win dudes!

there is a bird convention in our front tree today.

and they are very healthy or very pregnant.

i can't believe i'm posting about birds.

the next thing you know i'll be buying a birdhouse....

i am official old  mature !

love my REAL post-it notes !

no more buying the cute generic ones in pretty colors

that don't stick.

no more buying those mini 2x2 ones that you

can barely fit a thought on.

no more buying those fancy cut-out shape ones

that curl on the corners.

no more.

i'm sticking with the real thing from now on !

just wish i would of invented them !

still reading away in my spare time.

these are a couple that have captured my attention over the past six weeks.

i love to read.

i always have a book near me.

i am not afraid to NOT finish a book anymore.

when reading it seems like a chore, than i know its not the book for me at that time

and i don't hesitate to put it aside or return it to the library.

life is too short to waste !

note: i noticed that i seem to be leaning towards non-fiction lately.

and i'm enjoying it !

off to find my next book to dive into -

hello HEB: soup, cold cuts and some more specialty cheese

weekend to-do lists are always better when its sunny!

hello doodle book 2015 !

i love your crisp new pages just waiting for me to fill in.

i call it a doodle book but its really an everything journal.

i write my bible verse for the day.

i write down the weather.

i write down my graditudes.

i write down our appointments.

i write down the to-do's.

i write down what filled our day.

i write down transaction numbers, authorization numbers

and return pro numbers.

i write down blogs to visit, books to read & funny 

one liners the boys say.

i tape in stuff & acticles to read.

i tape in pictures ripped out of magazines.

i tape in project life ideas.

i doodle while on the phone.

i doodle fancy letters.

i doodle what i eat sometimes also.

its my everyday little thing.

somedays there is a whole page filled.

somedays there is just a line or two.

somedays there is nothing.

its just a journal - 

not another thing on my to-do list!

off to happy hour at jack allens.

i'll journal about it later i'm sure.

better practice drawing my wine glasses.....

nothing screams summer more than the boat show at the

austin convention center during a cold & grey january sunday!

nothing screams summer more than three roller hot dogs with

hunts ketchup and cheetoes!

nothing screams thank you more than receiving a voice message

that "this phone was left on a boat".

thanks to melanie at south austin boats who thought to ask siri to "call mom" on

a password protected iphone.

can you guess which boy had the biggest smile on his face 

after retrieving the lost phone.......

i always line everyones shoes up at the front door before i go to bed.

{i guess i just want everyone to be able to find their shoes
