charades while waiting for the new year !
one pair of missing cowgirl boots kinda found
after a house wide search.
one pair of missing boots hopped in a
car headed north to round rock and found
a resting place in a front foyer.
an end of the year laugh for all!

adventure austin day five.
after our franklins bbq food coma,
we headed to Big Top candy store & Allen Boots on Congress Street.
3 pairs of cowboy boots and 30.00 of candy later,
we headed off to the Lego Store to spend some gift cards
from poppa & grandma.
1000 lego pieces later......
off to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner.
peanut shells on the floor.
cinnamon butter & rolls.
fried pickles and blooming onions everywhere!

adventure austin day five.
months ago, in the middle of the night, the alarm clock rang.
the computer was booted up, the email composed & the minutes ticked away
till the golden hour of midnight.
email sent.
hours passed.
no word.
no confirmation.
then finally the golden email dropped into my inbox.
our FRANKLINS preorder made the list !!
we were going to be the recipients of brisket, ribs and sausage -
without the line !!
our day has come.
we parked blocks away.
we cut the line of hundreds.
we smiled in the warm smell of barbecue.
we walked out with bags and smiles as big as texas.
we chatted with the folks waiting since 6am.
we shared our preorder secret.

the food was served at 11am.
the kitchen was quiet.
-
the food melted in our mouth.
the sauce dripped down our chins.
the line for seconds was long.
-
we enjoyed our franklins bbq adventure!
can't wait for his cookbook and PBS series to come this year !

the game last well past midnight.

it was down to conor, colin and me.

i was so tired.

i kept betting it all just so i could go to sleep.

now it was just colin and i.

poor conors sneaker money was just a dream now !!

the dishes are done.

the work centers are clean.

the presentation has finished.

the judge is testing.

the teams are sharing stories.

the winner is announced &

TEAM B has won with their apple-pecan salad,

pork tenderlion on apples and apple crisp dessert !!

watch out master chef - the sippels are ready !

one mystery ingredient that must be incorporated

in three different dinner dishes.

one hour on the clock.

team A: ed, bob, carol, justin, conor & finn

team B: faith, erin, steve, nate, bridget & colin.

time ticking.

sneak peeks over the island.

running for food.

chopping, cutting, cooking & plating.

the apple has never seen so much action !

off to the Texas Stars Hockey game.
popcorn, salsa and chicken wings !
power plays, penalty boxes & breakaways !
texas stars showed off with a great win !
who knew they had hockey in texas ?

early morning mass.

from santa, from cousins, from poppa & grandma -

the smiles from ear to ear.

brunch around the table for twelve.

alexander the great movie recap that had us

all laughing from conor & finn.

afternoon lego building throughout the house.

afternoon strolls thru whole foods, rei and paper source.

load up the cars, the adventure continues north of the town.

left the boys at top golf and headed

off to the domain with a couple of charge cards in hand.

nothing more dangerous than post season sales !!

papa murphy pizza for the kids.

sullivans for the adults.
