book finished.
after being swept into de rosnay's first novel, sarah's key, and being hooked by the secret and history of jew's living in france during the nazi take over, I was sorely disappointed by her second book. as the title suggests, there is a secret that a family keeps until the children, now in their 40s suddenly remember and piece together after a trip back to the vacation spot they frequented as kids. i won't ruin the secret for you but i'll let you know it has to do with someone having an affair.
it started out so strong that i believe thats one of the reasons i was so disappointed with the rest of the book.
maybe i expected too much.
maybe i enjoyed sarahs key too much.
on to my next book.
