i miss the days when i had three boys dressed as

winnie the pooh, tigger and eeyore.

i miss the days when we all went out house to house 

together.

i miss the days when the boys would sit and trade

treats for hours afterwards.

i miss the days when they would fight to hand out

the treats at the front door.

times change.

boys grow up.

goodbye hundred acre woods.

hello scary masks & pillowcases.

saturday memories.

cold morning for checking out the neighborhood garage sales.

colin was brave enough to bundle up and go with us.

no good finds for us.

afternoon football under blue skies.

tough loss today for us.

late afternoon art festival at the domain.

snapped a couple pictures of the boys -

maybe a future christmas card!

off to maggiano's for dinner.

veal parmesan was the dinner of choice.

too full for dessert tonight!

coke, lays chips & ketchup.

had to take a picture of this -

colins new thing is ketchup with his chips.

he puts ketchup on everything and now we can

add chips to the list.

the boys don't let me take pictures of them like they used to.

i remember when they would yell

"mom, grab the camera and get my picture for the blog!"

so now i am taking pictures of things - like chips!

i knew this day was coming.

a little sad.

off to take a picture of a plant, a book or

dirty laundry on a teenagers floor.

after all the classics, i grabbed a quick read

at the library this week.

loved good in bed by jennifer weiner and 

when i saw this on the 14 day new book shelf,

i grabbed it.

cute book. beach read. two day read.

danielle steel of my generation book.

off to get a new book.

dear nathan,

when i looked up on the stage tonight,
i didn't recognize you at first.
your high pitched voice has been replaced with a deeper low sound.
you have grown out of your pants & now look down on me when you talk to me
( with new silver brace bands on your teeth).
i swear you are growing every taller everyday.
you are chatty some days & quiet some days when you
walk in the front door after school.
you have given up your after school mini-bag of microwave popcorn
for a small bowl of lays potato chips.
you still take your lunch to school everyday.
the exact same thing.
one bottle of dasani water, one pb&j on wheat bread,
one donut stick and one mini-bag of crackers.
you love the trumpet, carry it back and forth to school each day on the bus & the house is filled with your sounds on weekday afternoons.
you are carrying your phone around all the time now
& its always charged to the max -
both of these are new for you.
you are busy texting a new friend and making
it to all the band extra sessions and events :)
you find time to watch espn, you tube, play xbox
and get your homework finished each day.
you are following the presidential debates &
often ask appropriate questions about national security,
national debt & politics in general.
you are wearing your hair longer these days.
you are busy with school activities between band &
junior historians club - you always have somewhere to be.
you still love to memorize anything & everything -
you quote sports all the time.
you are growing up.
it seems like just yesterday
we brought you home from the hospital.
enjoy.

just because i was put "on-call" today.

just because it was a "snow day" for me today.

just because i received great early morning email message.

just because we got a pumpkin & some mums to decorate the front step.

just because " you could always buy a whole bunch of mums."

just because we had to try the new food trailer park for lunch.

just because i got to watch colins double game day at the fields.

just because its 88 beautiful degrees today.

just because texas vs. baylor tonight.

just because 3OT in texas tech vs tcu.

just because saturdays are better when you get to spend them

with your guys!
